Marine Society
The Marine Society includes members from all Nautical Studies Department classes including Marine Engineering, Nautical Science and Seamanship.
The Marine Society is a former recipient of ‘Society of The Year’ whilst in CIT. Now based in the National Maritime College in Ringaskiddy we organise social activities for the student population, such as table quizzes and nights out in Ringaskiddy and Cork. We use many of our events to raise money for charities such as the RNLI and the Marymount Hospice.
Every year, for Rag Day the society has a hectic day of activities including a soccer tournament, raft race and karaoke, with funds raised going to charity. The society’s ball, the Schemers ball is held in January of each year, and is always great craic.
