Irish Naval Service Course Details
After initial military training in the Irish Naval Service, either as a Cadet or as an enlisted person, personnel move on to more specialised training, both in terms of long term career, specialised short courses, and mandatory training such as fire fighting and sea survival. All non military training with the exception of certain trade training is undertaken in the NMCI.
In general training can be broken up into two main groups; Career Training and Short courses. Career training varies with the specific branch in which a person works within the INS. Further variations occur for Enlisted Personnel and Commissioned Officers. The branches within the Irish Naval Service are as follows - Operations, Engineering, Communications and Logistics.
