Mandatory Training
Because of the nature of seagoing and life in general in the Irish Naval Service, certain training is mandatory, and applies to all personnel, regardless of rank or branch. This includes firefighting and sea survival training which are essential training for all seafarers. Mandatory courses are required for a person to be eligible to serve aboard ship.
