Model of Asgard II presented to NMCI

The management committee of Coiste an Asgard - the Irish Sail Training Association met in the NMCI on 9th April. On conclusion of the meeting the management committee presented a model of Asgard II to the NMCI. Accepting the model on behalf of the NMCI, Cdr. Thomas Tuohy, Associate Head of College said that the NMCI were delighted to receive such a beautiful model and that it would be displayed in the Library of the College. He went on to say that the work undertaken by Coiste an Asgard was outstanding in introducing young people to the sea, many of whom go on to make a career in either the Navy or Merchant Navy. He thanked Coiste an Asgard for their very kind gesture and wished the Asgard fair winds.
