NMCI students raise funds for the RNLI

Wednesday 30 May 2007

The Marine Society, an NMCI student society, held a table quiz recently to fund-raise for Crosshaven RNLI. A good turnout meant that they managed to raise €807 for the Crosshaven Lifeboat Station which is located near the edge of Cork Harbour and is the closest lifeboat station to the college.

Crosshaven Lifeboat Station is one of 43 stations in Ireland and 233 in total run by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. The RNLI exists to save lives at sea and is entirely supported by voluntary contributions so the funds raised NMCI students will be well spent.

The Marine Society Committee 2006 – 2007 comprised Sabrina Lehane Chairperson, Shauna Dolan Vice Chairperson, Philip O’Brien PRO, Erica Bonner Secretary and Rob O’Brien Treasurer.
